Day 348 – 10/19/11 – Tunnel of Love

One of the old forts we visited had some wonderful tunnels to explore.  Some were tunnels into the underground portions of the fort, and were filled with darkness and dripping water.  Others, such as this one, were wholly above ground and served as access points between the fort and the shore.

This tunnel was open to the sky above at the mid point, creating some wonderful light and shadow patterns.  I was setting up an image when this couple took a stroll through hand-in-hand.  Sometimes the image sets itself up.

  1. Wonderful framing Jim. I bet getting the right exposure was a bit tricky in this shot.

Thanks Sasi! It actually wasn’t as tricky as you’d think, I just exposed for the left side of the tunnel mouth, which is pretty much where I wanted the mid-tone to be. A trick I wouldn’t have known a year ago before starting this project 😉
