Day 210 – 06/03/11 – GBOP

I had an image all planned out for today, another in the Inside theme.  But when the girls got home from school we finally had both the time and the weather that we needed to bring out one of their Christmas gifts that’s been on hold for the last six months – the GBOP.

That’s GBOP as in Great Big Outdoor Playball.  It’s a huge inflatable ball that the kids can crawl inside and roll around in.  Similar to the hamster wheel from Day 161, but much bigger and more contained.  So I changed the image of the day on the fly, and decided to get an image from inside the ball.

The big one enters the GBOP.

The big one enters the GBOP.

Don’t bother adjusting your monitor, and that’s not a problem with my white balance, that’s what happens when you shoot while completely surrounded by orange and yellow transparent plastic.

To give a bit of perspective on the size of this thing, here are both of the girls in it.  There arms aren’t sticking out for compositional purposes.  The ball is taller than they are, and they’re actually holding it down so they can stick their heads out.  Otherwise all you’d see is the top of the big one’s head!

  1. Oh man, I so wish I had one of those when I was a kid, what fun (I can totally hear all the laughter)! Well, whatever the image was for this day, I am glad you switched over to GBOP. 😀

That looks like a lot of fun….
