Day 176 – 04/30/11 – Monkey Blossoms

We were starting to think it wasn’t possible, but we finally had a rain free day (so far).  Needless to say we took advantage of it.  Prior to getting busy with the yard work, I took a few moments with the camera.

My intent was to capture some of the wonderful white flowers on the anchor tree in our flower bed.  I believe it’s a cherry tree and these are cherry blossoms, but an arborist I’m not.  On the way to that corner of the yard I was distracted by another tree, bearing a much different sort of fruit – a pair of monkey girls.  Yard apes, if you will.

The girls in their natural habitat.

I did finally make it to the cherry tree.  I’d leave this for another day, but it’s supposed to rain for the next ten days straight.  And if the wind continues as well, these will all be gone by then.  Better safe than sorry.

The spring blossoms have arrived.
