Day 155 – 04/09/11 – Henna Hands

The girls had a scouting event this morning, the World Friendship Carnival.  Each troop represented a country, and they all circulated to learn about the various countries’ culture.

The big one’s troop represented India, and one of the things they learned about was the use of Henna tattoos in wedding ceremonies.  In addition to learning about the tradition, the troop set up a station where girls could receive actual Henna tattoos.  Both of our girls got one of course.  Here are their Henna Hands.

The girls each received Henna tattoos.

What a fabulous way to introduce young ones to other cultures. Very nice!

  4. Great capture of both of their hands. I love it in B&W.

The concept of a World Friendship carnival is a great idea. I don’t remember them doing things like this when I was a kid.

  5. I love the way you set this up! Very powerful in black and white too 🙂
