Day 132 – 03/17/11 – Leprechaun Hunt

We’ve finally warmed up a bit here, if only temporarily.  I arrived home to find the girls outside riding bikes and scooters.  They explained to me that they were hunting leprechauns, which of course is appropriate on St. Patrick’s Day.

This is the little one’s official leprechaun hunting equipment.  The bike to chase after them (they’re fast), the shovel to dig them up (apparently they burrow when seen), the bag to hold the gold (the pot is too heavy to carry on a bike), and I suppose the helmet to protect her noggin against angry green men.  You’d think the helmet was just for the bike riding, but it stayed on during the digging as well.

Unfortunately the leprechauns all got away this time.  I suppose that means they’ll be around next year to hunt again.

She is just so beautiful! And what a cute story about the hunt, I am glad the weather has warmed up for them to get outside and enjoy moments like that 🙂

Thanks Mindy! We’re headed back for snow next week (you can still see some in the picture behind her too), but I think we’ve turned the corner now. I’m looking forward to getting more outside shots in soon.

Very cute photos and a fun story! They have a great imagination!

  3. Love the imagination kids have. I remember being quite disappointed upon finding out that leprechauns weren’t real.

  4. Karen says:

    Darn sneaky leprechauns! Too fun!
