Day 38 – 12/13/10 – The Reindeer

Long day today.  We got hit with the next round of the big snowstorm, closing schools and roads.  Unfortunately, my wife was scheduled for surgery today, so we found ourselves driving on those roads nonetheless.

We spent the majority of the day in the hospital, and just got home a bit ago.  While I’m happy to say that my wife is doing just fine, her surgery was not completely successful.  As she likes to say she went in for a pain-in-the-necktomy, and I’m still here…

Needless to say she’s not interested in allowing me to use the cell phone photo I snapped of her in her stylish hospital gown, and we don’t have much time to work out another shot this evening.  Luckily this little guy was more than willing to step up and have his portrait taken.  While you can’t see it from the angle of the shot, the rocking chair says “Grandma” on it – we’re pretty sure this is the guy that allegedly ran her over.  The fact that when rocked he sings Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer supports our suspicions.

The reindeer that ran over Grandma enjoys her rocking chair.

  1. Glad to hear your venture into the snow was a safe one. We are having rain, rain and more rain lately. So much that we have actually had flood warnings issued the last few days. I think tomorrow I will head out and try to capture some shots.

What a fun shot, I really like the tree behind the reindeer, especially the lighting near the feet! 😀

  2. Hahaha! This is great!!!! Hope your wife is still doing well!
